Guildhall whose foundation was laid in late 18th century has faced the horrors of disastrous fire which burned everything except the cloak tower in 1908. It was then funded by the honorable Irish society in 1912 to be rebuild. From the early 19th century since its rebuilding it has witnessed a lot of important visits from royalty to US Marine Corps. It also faced major destructions in building during 1972, when it hit by two terrorist bombs.
